So ...... how does this happen?

Knowledge & Skills
We will share knowledge and teach you skills to become active participants in your healthcare so you can reach your self-identified health & wellbeing goals.

Listen
We will listen to your story and what matters to you, to then be able to work with you to overcome any barriers you may face.

Support
We will support you to self-identify existing issues and encourage proactive prevention of new and existing long term conditions

Communication
We will use strong communication and negotiating skills and support your personal choice. We will have regular check-ins and keep communication open with you throughout our work together.

Goal Setting
We will work with you to set realistic and achievable goals with regards to your health & wellbeing and offer you accountability, encouragement and unconditional support.

Empower
We will empower you to find solutions to your own challenges based on what matters to you. The skills you learn will stay with you to use in any future situations you may find yourself in.
What We Can Help With
Take a look at the information below to see what we can support you with:

Hypertension
This is where your blood pressure is higher than it should be. You may be on medication for this but with some diet and lifestyle support we can reduce this, resulting in less medication.

Pre-Diabetes / Type 2 Diabetes
This is becoming more prevalent and people are being diagnosed at a much younger age then previous generations. Both conditions can be reversed by making some adjustments to our diet & lifestyle.

Cholesterol
There are many elements to cholesterol. Your lipid profile consists of Serum cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and Chol/HDL ratio. This profile give an alround picture of your cholesterol, and some elements may be higher than they should be, some elements within a normal range. Some elements can be lowered with diet & lifestyle, other elements with medications.

Weight Management
With processed foods being so readily available around the clock, we are facing an obesity crisis. Being overweight can increase our risks of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, mental health problems and many other health conditions. Weight loss can be simple and effective with the right support. Its not about joining a gym, not eating the foods we enjoy but moderating what we eat and drink.

Fitness
Becoming fitter doesn't mean hours in a gym, pumping iron, or running marathons. It can be simple, easy exercises that can be done in the comforts of your own home. Strength is just as important as cardio, especially as we move into older age. Strength exercises can reduce the risk of falls, keep us active and mobile and prevent back, hip and knee pain.

Mental Wellness
Our mental health can be governed by other aspects of our lives. A poor diet can lead to low mood, lack of movement and exercise can result in low mood, anxiety and depression. We can look at most aspects of your mental wellness from a holistic approach and support you to 'get back out there' and be the person you want to be.
